The "My Ride" Challenge.....

Accepted.

Every day, I scooter out and ride into to my City: Portland.

This is the road that gets me to the bridge.

I know Martha kinda, sorta, expected one shot, but it is difficult to do justice to the road with only one picture.

So here they are....

 Going in to town...

...And Coming Home...

I look forward to seeing what roads other folks travel on...

Thank you, Martha, for the great challenge!

  1. You are blessed with a mighty nice commute. I have nothing to hold against. Mine is through the suburbs of Vancouver, Canada.

    1. Thanks Sonja. It is nice. Although, Vancouver has much to recommend. All in all, except for the winter, the drive is calming.

    1. Indeed it is so nice, except that as I tootle along the water's edge, I feel more like a dottel.

  4. Sooooo, Mike. Before BeemerGirl said "toddle along the water" I was thinking "Does he paddle? Swim?" That path by the hydrant looks like it goes to the beach. Is this your footpath? And if so why is your scooter all the way over someplace else? Just wondering. Nice photos. Lovely, lovely ocean. Thanks for taking the challenge!

    1. Let's see.... the path does indeed go down to the beach, and to the water. However! As Professor Irwin Corey would say

that's as far as one goes. The water in Maine is coooooold. In the summer, it sometimes gets up to 43 degrees. In the winter, you only can last for 5-6 minutes.

As for my scooter, there's little room at the edge of the road, so I was forced to leave it a good distance back. Ah well, you can't have every thing.
      Although it's great fun trying!

Thanks again for the challenge. Had fun rising to it.
      Ciao.

  5. Very nice view from the road. I bet it isn't hard to get used to that drive.

    1. No, it's not. Especially after a long day of hearings, when you're just about worn to a nub and ready to jump on anyone for any reason - or even no reason.

      Love that Bonneville!

Now, that's something I could get used to.

  6. Okay Mike:

with a Bonnie you can ride across the country, in style, with your BRW on the back, tent and all. I have no views on my commute. Just concrete, cars and signal lights for 22 kms. We have to arrive at work just to de-stress from the ride

    1. That is a bummer, Bob.
      BUT!
      I have a suggestion.
      Quit your job.
Life's too short, and that way we can meet up sooner, rather than later.
      Ciao.

  7. Ah, beautiful Maine! Some day I'm gonna scoot up to see you guys on my Elite!

  8. Talk about beautiful!
    What a ride you have!
And when you wrote you live in rural Ohio, you meant RURAL.
I can tell you that Columbus doesn't look like that.
By the way, how's the Elite working out?
And our offer of meeting half way still holds.....
    Ciao.

  9. That shot looking north shows what looks like the Bush cottage... but that's way too far south, right? Not unless your commute to Portland is way longer than I was giving you credit for :)

  10. You're right David, the Bush's live way south of me. No, it's just what the rich up here call a summer cottage. Cute, eh?
Next ride perhaps I can talk Tom into going to the Bush's.
    Why not?
