So, I got this idea...

Why not drive...

Let's make that Scooter

to.......

MONTREAL!

No, I'm Not Crazy.

I mean, it's only 256 miles (411.992 km).  At an average speed of 40mph (64.4 km) it should only take, what? about 6-1/2 hours?

So, what's the big deal?

I can follow a map as well as the next guy

Maybe even better

And, after all, what's the worse that can happen?
I take a wrong turn?

So, I'm going to pack a few things,

Some food,

And set off.

I'm sure it will be an exciting trip, filled with great sights,

So, now the question is:
Does anyone out there know anyone in Montreal that I can say "Hello from..." to??

If so, let me know, because in the not too distant future, it will be

To Infinity....
And Beyond!

Stay Tuned.......

  1. Hmmmmm, now who could you visit in Montreal? At least you know that is an easy one to answer.

I envy you living so close to Montreal. I've been there once in January when it was -40 out and would love to go back in the summer or fall.

    1. I too have been in Montreal once. I was delivering a large sailboat from Maine to Chicago via around Gaspe, down the St. Lawrence, over Niagara Falls and through all the lakes.
What with weather, breakdowns, part delivery problems, it took almost 50 days.
So, when we reached Montreal, I flew my BRW in from Maine and we spent a 3-day weekend just wandering around the city - eating, drinking and making merry.
At the end of the weekend, I took her to the airport: she flew home and I sailed away.
It was Late June, so the weather was fantastic.

  2. Mike:

If you're serious about going to Montreal, go and give David a call. He was just in Vancouver. Tell him Bob sent you, then he will either: 1) give you a big kiss and hugg, or 2) throw you out on your ears . . .

If you made your destination Seattle instead, I would ride down and buy you a donut

    1. I will give David a shout. Thanks.
Ah Haa! The short blue tube is the tent.
Tent, sleeping bag and some cloths. What more - other than a jug of wine - could one want to reach paradise?
      I'll keep you posted.

Does all that camping gear actually fit on the little scoot? Give her a break!

    1. Yup.... it all fits AND with room for my BRW, AND it still can maintain a little shy of 50 mph (except uphill, when she has slowed to 40). It is, after all an Elite.... Pretty cool, eh?

  4. Mike, 256 miles... hmmm! You won't have earned an iron butt... but (pardon the pun), you'll be happy to get off that scoot when you get here. Let me know as your plans progress.

PS: added you to my blog list.

  5. Mike, when you map out your route, send me an e-mail message to let me know which bridge you plan to take and I'll take a video of the approach and crossing to post in the Bridges page on my blog.
